The Best Crappie Fishing Report on the Internet
Our crappie fishing report will be the most reliable crappie fishing report on the internet. How many times have you looked for a decent crappie fishing report to find that you have been taken on a wild goose chase that will take you to all the bass fishing information that you don’t want. You see most bass fishermen will fish for crappie some so they add a crappie fishing report when it’s just bass fishing. I have also found that even when you go to crappie fishing websites they even send you in another direction, and you never really get a credible crappie fishing report. Our crappie fishing report will always be current or at least a couple of reliable crappie fishing reports will be at your fingertips when you need them the most each month. We have enjoyed keeping up with the crappie through all of the seasons and now this crappie fishing report will be there when you need it the most!
I know that I cannot keep you up to date in all 50 states without help from crappie fishermen across the United States. Our crappie fishing report is generated in North East Texas at Lake Fork. You see we are farther south than most crappie fishermen. There are a lot of variations that will generate different crappie fishing reports the farther north you go. We built this website because we have a love for crappie fishing and also love to help fishing anglers, men & women that are not able to go crappie fishing on a regular basis. Our free information website will help people catch more crappie, because they will have a better idea of where to fish. Did you know that there are a lot of organizations that have sponsors with barges that take handicap kids fishing? It’s really a cool thing to see the light come on with excitement in a handicap Childs eyes!
This is what I am going to ask of my fellow crappie fishing anglers, I need two or three anglers from each state to send me a crappie fishing report when you go crappie fishing each month with your home town lake and I will post your crappie fishing report by State with your name or initials or if you choose to remain anonymous. I will need depths, are you fishing bridge pylons, brush piles, creeks, main lake or secondary points and what depth you are fishing etc. You can e-mail me at: Support@fishingforcrappie.com It doesn’t have to be professional report, all we are trying to do is help average people find crappie with your crappie fishing report.

Lake Fork Reservoir
Current temperature this morning is 68 degrees with an expected high of 88 degrees, partly cloudy skies and wind is out of the SSE at 10 to 15 mph. We fished mid-lake bridge pylons & brush piles for the last couple of days and it was like you could do no wrong. The water is visable down to 3'. The depths that we were fishing on the bridge pylons in 25' to 33' some with structure and the crappie we caught are in 16' to 24'. The smaller crappie are closer to the 16' to 18' range and we started pulling good size crappie out of the 20' to 24' foot depths with an occassional slab nailing us fishing medium size minnows on the West side of the bridge fishing 3 to 9 pylons out. In 1 1/2 hours we pulled out over 50 crappie with 25 keepers! This is a blast when you get your hook down to the right depth and seconds later you get bit.
The secondary main lake points are hot too! This brush pile is out on the end of the point in 25' deep water with the top of the brush pile coming up to 19'. Our best fishing came from fishing the edges of the brush pile 18 feet to 21 foot pulling out some really nice crappie 10 inches to 14 inches long. In 2 hours we pulled in 30 crappie with 12 keepers. Really not a bad morning coming into the summer fishing patterns we boated 83 crappie with 37 keepers!

This week has been a little cooler than the last few weeks of triple digit weather. We have found crappie holding in 21’ to 26’ of water. The best places on the lake is from main lake points to secondary points that have good brush piles with deep drop-offs. We are finding smaller crappie on the 515 bridge with some larger crappie mixed in areas around the pylons. We are catching crappie & catfish at these depths fishing live minnows. They have advanced to their summer pattern, going to deep structure.

Right now the crappie are scattered out all over the lake on Lake Fork, what we found is that the bass are in their summer schooling patterns under the bridges with the crappie and catfish all bunched up together around the first 4 bridge pylons, from the shore on each side of the bridges in 27 feet to 32 feet deep, it didn’t matter if there was structure on the pylons. The outside temperature averaged around 95 degrees with the water surface temperature at 84 degrees, we had 5 inches of rain last week and the water runoff from the rain lowered the lake temperatures and is moving the crappie in 20 foot to 30 feet deep. We were catching crappie on medium size minnows in depths between 18’ to 24’ feet deep, the jig bite was not there on Sunday, we tried several different colors and they just didn’t want them. We caught all of our crappie in the early morning hours from 8:30 AM to about 12:30 PM then the crappie bite stopped in all areas. In this time we caught about 35 crappies with 20 keepers over 10 inches. We went back out and fished from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM with only a couple of bites for the entire 2 hours.
We didn’t check out any open brush piles on the lake due to sunny with no clouds and humidity levels at 85%, it was very hot and muggy. We worked the center of the bridge pylons with no luck for crappie but at 12 feet we caught some brim and a 5 pound bass.
Good luck on your next fishing trip and visit us regularly for the best crappie fishing report on the internet at www.fishingforcrappie.com.
Lake Fork Crappie Fishing Report
Sunday December 13, 2009
The crappie are defiantly in their winter patterns and the big slabs are moving to bridge pylons, deep creek bends and edges of deep grass. Water temperatures are still in the middle 50’s even with it being 41 degrees for a high temperature, water level is a few inches from normal pool. We tried crappie fishing Saturday afternoon and caught a couple but nothing to rave about. However Sunday we decided to do the morning run Crappie are suspending over brush piles, edges of the grass and the best depths to fish is in 34 to 40 foot of water and crappie are suspending 26 foot to 28 foot. The bite is extremely soft using medium sized minnows, what I mean by that is several times I raised my line to feel weight and set the hook on a big crappie, a couple of time the line went limp…set the hook! So we started at 9:15am & fished to 1:30pm with the temps in the 40’s with 5 to 10 mph wind. We caught a lot of crappie between 9:15am & 12:00pm. After that it started tapering off to no bites after 1:30pm. Lake Fork has a rule that what you catch you keep regardless of size starting December 1st through the end of February with a 25 limit per person. Our total catch for the day was 38 crappies they averaged 1.75 lbs per crappie….very nice day. Our largest crappie was over 2 lbs. Best places to fish are the 515 & 154 bridge pylons with structure and just north of the dam.

Crappie fisherman on Lake Fork is seeing a warming trend with springtime just around the corner. Temperatures here at Lake Fork climbed to 64 degrees on Saturday and turned into a beautiful sunny day. The average water temperatures in the backs of the creeks are currently around 44 to 48 degrees with the lake at normal pool. Let me tell you that this was an awesome day for some great crappie fishing. We were on the eastside of the lake in Birch Creek just past the power lines fishing with medium sized minnows. This is back in the 8 foot to 10 foot of water along the tree lines and slab crappies are stacked in these areas with stained water, I’m talking about 2 ½ pound plus sized crappie that are loaded with eggs. So if you are looking for some trophy sized crappie then the crappie bite has started. With the afternoon sun hitting these areas and we are starting to move into the mid 60’s this week with some sunshine it’s only going to get better! So plan on getting out there and enjoy some serious slab crappie fishing!

Crappie biting on Lake Fork! Crappie’s still in the shallows over moss on main lake points & secondary points with brush piles. We fished Little Canine on a secondary point with minnows and in 2 ½ hours boated 28 crappie’s & 2 catfish that was both over 3 pounds. The best technique was fishing the 18 foot of water off a drop off for about 30 minutes and the moved to 24 foot with brush and fished that spot with was about 25 feet away from the 18’ and rotated back & forth from spot to spot. I noticed that they were still skittish from the spawn. Some of their tails were still red from fanning the beds.
So our average fish was 1.2 pounds with the largest one being 1.8 pounds and about 17 1/2" long. Great pan frying fillets!
